Wacky Runs

Santa suits, pizza stops, doughnuts, midnight fireworks — the themed fun runs of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania & Florida, in one place. Every listing links out to the official race site to register.

Privacy Policy

Wacky Runs (wackyruns.com) is a directory of themed fun runs — Santa suits, pizza stops, doughnuts at the finish line. This page explains, in plain English, what information we collect and what we do with it. The short version: as little as possible, and only to run the features you actually use.

Accounts are optional

Most of Wacky Runs works without any account at all. If you want your saved races to follow you from your phone to your laptop, you can sign in with Google. When you do, Google sends us your name and email address so we can save your “My Wacky List” — the races you star — and show it on any device where you’re signed in. We never see or store your Google password; Google handles the sign-in itself.

If you don’t sign in

No account, no problem. Your starred races are stored only in your own browser (in what’s called local storage), on your device. That list never leaves your device, and we can’t see it.

The Wacky Roundup newsletter

If you subscribe to The Wacky Roundup, our email provider, Buttondown, stores your email address and the state edition you picked (New Jersey, New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, or a surprise-me mix). That’s all it’s used for — sending you the Roundup. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing actually unsubscribes you.

Analytics, minus the creepiness

We use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to count visits in aggregate — which pages get read and roughly where readers come from. Plausible uses no cookies and does no cross-site tracking, and we never see anyone’s individual browsing history. We also run Google Analytics alongside Plausible to understand our traffic; unlike Plausible, Google Analytics does use cookies, and the information it collects is processed by Google under Google’s own privacy policy.

What we never do

We do not sell personal data, and we don’t run advertising trackers. Your information exists to power your saved list and your newsletter subscription — nothing else.

The services behind the site

Wacky Runs relies on a handful of services, and each handles information under its own privacy policy:

Deleting your data

Want your account and saved list gone? Email us at social@wackyruns.com and we’ll delete them. (Newsletter subscribers can also just hit unsubscribe in any Roundup email.) Questions about anything on this page go to the same address.
